Carrie Briggs

Carrie Briggs

Carrie stated, as a Student Counsellor I work as part of a Wellbeing Team with appropriate communication and adherence to safeguarding procedures; this includes maintaining confidential records and caseload management.

I believe that a sense of balance, how you feel about yourself, and the ability to deal with what life throws at you are important components in a happy life; Carrie also believes that life is a journey where change is possible.

Prior to counselling training, I held a variety of different roles in the workplace which necessitated the ability to build a good rapport with a diverse range of people. This included ten years delivering literacy intervention to children, and previously working with adults with basic literacy needs. I also spent many years working as a Youth Worker in informal settings and have been employed in business environments doing administrative and secretarial work.

I have extensive experience as a Counsellor at a Further & Higher Education College, specialising in Anxiety, Depression, Bereavement, Identity, Life Transitions, Relationship Issues, Self-Esteem, Self-harm, Suicidal ideation, Young People (16+).
