Claire has vast experience committed to the specialisms of working with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES), Disordered Eating, Trauma Therapy, Suicidal Ideation, Anxiety & Depression, Self-harming behaviours, Bereavement and Chronic Illness. While her work is centred around Young People, Claire is also able to work with Family Group Dynamics including parents and adults.

 

Claire draws knowledge and wisdom from her own personal experience of family members with a variety of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, OCD, self-harming behaviours and changing health conditions. This unique background has developed Claire’s compassion when facing these issues working in a person-centred approach.

 

Claire has a strong background in working with young persons and their families, working in a family support roles for both the local authority and in schools, she is an accredited parenting group facilitator for two evidence-based parenting programs and is accomplished in delivering these groups. From this she has acquired a good understanding of the effects that poor parenting can have on an individual. Claire has had many roles working for Dorset Mind, notably as a Young Person Befriending Co-ordinator, a Young Persons Counsellor and a Counselling Lead and Supervisor for Trainee Counsellors. She also manages the eating disorder service, Restored.
