

Vianna Boring
Vianna states I am originally from Northern California and have been in the UK since 2001. After working in London within the arts and higher education sectors, I moved to Belfast and started my counselling studies at Queen’s University Belfast. Undertaking my clinical placement at the Belfast Model School for Girls.
I relocated to Bournemouth in 2009. I worked at Peter Symonds College in Winchester, the Universities of Portsmouth and Southampton, the Counselling Information Trust of Poole, and served as the School Counsellor for the Bishop of Winchester Secondary School whilst maintaining a private practice.
At Bournemouth University I have been employed as a Placement Development Advisor supporting students on their sandwich placements and through this work, found my deep interest in workplace mental health, therefore since 2019, I have been a member, and am now Chair, of the BACP Workplace Division.
I have a BA in Music from California State University, Chico, a MA in European Cultures from Birkbeck College at the University of London, and am currently completing my Doctorate of Education at Bournemouth University.
Interests and specialisms – I love working with: young people, adolescents, couples, international persons and related issues, cultural diversity, fertility issues and concerns, work-related stress and coping strategies, academic and career life cycle, and stressors.
