Counsellor/Psychotherapist

Kay specializes in working with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES), Bereavement, Pregnancy & Infant Loss  Sexual Trauma & Rape, and Trauma.
Kay is a trained Integrative Counsellor, which means she combines various counselling techniques, including CBT, person-centered, and attachment theory. Kay also integrates elements of Internal Family Systems and Systemic Theory. This enables me to create a personalized experience, specific to you.
As well as working with Poole Therapies, Kay also works as a counsellor at a specialised Sexual Trauma Agency in Dorset, where she provides support to clients who have experienced recent sexual assault, childhood sexual assault, or domestic violence.
Kay is also a trained CRUSE Bereavement Volunteer, with experience in helping people cope with bereavement, loss, and grief, including situations involving pregnancy or infant loss.
Kay has also worked with clients dealing with a variety of challenges, including post-addiction recovery, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, bereavement, work-related stress, self-harm issues, ADHD, and Autism.
Shame is a common theme that affects many clients for various reasons, often stemming from childhood. Kay is here to support you and help you manage and lessen the impact of shame, which can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Before pursuing counselling, Kay worked as the Family Liaison Officer for Family Counselling Trust (Dorset), and before that, Kayu had also been a swimming teacher. Kay's working life has previously included roles as a Registered Midwife and Registered General Nurse.
Kay also loves living on the South Coast of England and enjoys walking her springer spaniel along the beach and in the surrounding countryside.
